The West Wales Women & Girls League (WWWGL) is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with #HerGameToo, a movement dedicated to tackling sexism in football and creating a safe, supportive environment for women and girls to thrive in the sport.
A step towards equality
Football is the beautiful game – a sport that belongs to everyone. Yet, for too long, women and girls have faced barriers, discrimination, and stereotypes that have hindered their full participation. By partnering with #HerGameToo, the WWWGL is reaffirming its commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming community where everyone feels valued and respected.
#HerGameToo was founded in 2021 by a group of passionate football fans who wanted to challenge sexism and misogyny in the game. Since then, it has grown into a powerful movement, raising awareness, educating communities, and advocating for positive change across all levels of football.
A unified message
The partnership sends a strong message that sexism has no place in football. By working together, the WWWGL and #HerGameToo aim to create a culture where women and girls feel empowered to participate, whether as players, referees, coaches, or fans.
A word from the partners
The #HerGameToo team shared:
“We are delighted to collaborate with the West Wales Women & Girls League. Grassroots football is vital in shaping the future of the sport, and together we can make it a space where women and girls are respected and celebrated.”
How you can support the movement
Football fans, players, and community members can get involved by:
Sharing and supporting #HerGameToo campaigns on social media.
Attending league events and initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality.
Calling out and reporting instances of sexism in football.
The partnership between the WWWGL and #HerGameToo is a testament to the power of collaboration in creating meaningful change. Together, we can break down barriers and ensure that football truly is a game for everyone.
Stay tuned for updates on workshops, events, and campaigns as we work to make football in West Wales a safe and inclusive space for all women and girls.
